jAdis: Prop Shop and Curiosity Cabinet

This short documentary tells the story of one of Los Angeles’ best kept secrets: JAdis. Founded in 1976 by Susan Lieberman and Parke Meek, JAdis became a treasure trove of strange inventions, pre-computer technology, and science-fiction props that would find their way into films like Batman & Robin, Waterworld, and The Prestige. After Parke’s passing, Susan was left to carry on what they built together. This short documentary steps inside JAdis to explore the remarkable collection—and the woman keeping its history alive.
